Packing toiletries can be one of the most difficult things when you go away. They can add a lot of bulk and you often need as much of them for one night as 3 or more. Here are my hints and tips that I have honed over the years: Collect sample sizes. These can be just one use size for a overnight trip when traveling light is important. Collect samples from magazines or that shops give away - a lot of mine have come from free gifts given when you buy a product or two during a promotion. ... continue reading...
Doha: The Highs and Lows
Recently, we went to Doha, Qatar on holiday. Doha is often used as a place to change aeroplanes and there's a lot of business travel, but what does it have to offer a tourist. The Highs Stunning buildings - there are lots of skyscrapers. They look spectacular in the daytime, but many are lit up at night too. A feeling of safety. There is a taxi rank outside the station, ... continue reading...
Kerrington House, B&B, Axminster
The other week I booked myself a room at the Kerrington House, B&B in Axminster as I was attending an event at River Cottage HQ, which is a short taxi drive away (£12). I arrived in Axminster by train and it is only a 5 minute walk to Kerrington House (walk to the end of the road out of the station, turn right, walk to the end of this road, turn right and the hotel is a little way along on the left hand side). I booked online via a booking website and paid up front. The only downside of ... continue reading...
